Ada County to Play Important Role in Detox Crisis Center

Ada County and Idaho Department of Health and Welfare have joined Boise’s Detox Committee to finally create a Detox and Mental Health Crisis Center.  This facility will provide better and more cost effective treatment for non-violent individuals with addiction disorders as well as those with mental health needs that have to rely on alchohol for self-medication.  If the Idaho legislature approves the operating funds for Health and Welfare this legislative session, the operating budget will be complete and we hope that construction will begin this Fall.  Ada County will contribute both to the consturction and operating budget and will serve as the administrator to the Joint Powers Agreement between the participating parties.

The Crisis Center has been a long-term need for our community.  Thanks to the leadership of the United Way, St. Als, St Lukes, Eagle, Meridian, and Boise City for making this vision become reality.
