Ada County Creates Open Space Task Force

It is no secret that I have been a strong proponent of open space preservation.  One of the greatest challenges we face with growth in our community is sustaining public open space for recreation, wildlife habitat, water quality and various other public benefits.  It is clear we must develop a plan now on what our priorities are and what tools we will have to make sure our plans become reality.

Ada County has selected a diverse group of 21 individuals representing various stakeholder points of view on the issue of open space preservation.  This group will govern itself and provide recommendations to the Board of Ada County Commissioners in April, 2008.  This report will be the first of its kind and an opportunity for the Board of Ada County Commissioners to take the next step in open space preservation.
